Can't Find Offer

I came across some cables in the marketplace here and made an offer on them. Only about 10% less than asking price. I then went to my Marketplace/Buying to double check, and it says I have not placed an offer on any listing. I rechecked a couple of hours later and still couldn't find the offer.

I went back to the listing and put the offer in again, just in case I had missed something. Still no sign of an offer anywhere. I know there is an automatic rejection of low ball offers. And some sellers don't want offers. But wouldn't I then get some notification, instead of letting me go through all the steps?

So, you clicked on MAKE AN OFFER. Did a new page open up that has a space for the amount, underneath that is your address, and at the bottom is a box for you to make comments?

If you don't see your shipping address on that page, maybe you're not signed in. Or you can sign out and sign in again.

Yes, on the listing page I clicked Make an Offer. It then took me to the page with my address where I put in the offer. I clicked Submit Offer. A window came up to confirm, which I did. Then nothing.

Tried again this morning with the same offer. This time it seemed to go through. Went back to the item listing and a bar at the top said the offer was too low. Within a couple of minutes, that bar was gone. My Marketplace page is still saying  "You have not recently placed an offer on any Audiogon listing". So, no record of my offer. If I hadn't seen that brief notice on the listing page, I wouldn't know what happened.

I made an offer on a 5k preamp once for 10% under asking price and the seller never bothered to even reject it. I later found out he was offended. What a joke. It takes all kinds. Probably grew up with safe zones.

Here’s a sure way to get something you want…check the Blue Book price and if they want something close to it just pay it.  So many cheapskates out there, until they’re selling something!
