Late night blues

Looking to make a playlist and maybe discover some new artists. Lately, for whatever reason I’ve been hankering for some low slow blues. Like glass of scotch and cigar, dark room late night chill.

a few examples would be Dire Straits “Fade To Black” or Chris Beard’s “All Night Long”.

suggestions are greatly appreciated.
thanks

The blues purists would take my Blues Society membership card for these next recommendations, but they may fit into what you’re looking for.

There is a Dutch woman who sings blues and prefers to stay local, singing in clubs around The Netherlands, Carmen Gomes. The purists would say it’s white bread blues, but it’s definitely blues. She has a good voice and band, her albums are very well recorded and it’s interesting to get a Dutch perspective on the blues. There was a thread about her on this forum not too long ago:

Audiogon Discussion Forum - Carmen Gomes

Curtis Stigers is the male version of Carmen, more to the jazz side, though. He has one album I particularly like, "Gentleman." It has the late-night feel and sounds great. It’s worth checking out.

Sue Foley - Songs

Joe Bonamosa - An Acoustic Evening

Brownie McGee - Southern Train

Mississippi Fred McDowell - I Do Not Play No Rock and Roll

Miles Davis - Ascenseur Pour L'Echafaud

Don't dismiss this until you hear it.  Sax man Tom Scott, LP/CD Smokin' Section.  Track - Ode To Billy Joe.  Stunning bluesy take on this old chestnut. Great guest vocal and smokin' sax work.

I go to Qobuz’s genre and choose “Blues”. You can see the most recent, Qobuz recommended… etc. also, from internet radio there are dozens of blues channels.
