UPS vs LPS

Will a "standby" UPS with AVR (auto. voltage regulator) and EMI/RFI line filtering serves similar purposes to an audio system as the LPS (linear power supply).  What are the pros and cons using UPS vs LPS?  One of the particular reasons I prefer UPS is to prevent the sudden interruption of power due to frequent storm we have in Florida to possibly damage the system while playing.  Could you recommend affordable UPS that you had experience with?  Thank you.

I understand UPS for backup power only, per above AC>DC>AC=inverter issues= sq issues. True battery power, AC>DC off battery supply specifically designed for that particular piece of equipment. I had NEW (Nirvana Electronic Works) DCA 66 class A SS amp back in 1990's, ran directly off four 12v lead acid batteries, another example is my Merlin VSM-MM BAM which runs off four 9v batteries. AC in these cases purely to charge internal batteries. Gets one off the grid without the added inverter.

What about noise from transformers at the pole? I would imagine that a UPS would calm that noise down, perhaps replace it with its own, and then the filtering of decent power supply in the sources.
