“BLOCK” Function?

I’ve tried a search here for such a function, and I’ve come up empty. Is there a way to block certain members? Not just from personal messages, but so they don’t show up in any topic I’m reading. Sometimes it’s nice to ask a question and learn something without someone trying to rub your nose in your lack of knowledge like a dog that did his business in the house.  I am all for learning from others. That’s one of the reasons I frequent this site. However, there are some folks here that do have vast knowledge, but are as abrasive as 40 grit sandpaper. For those folks I’m ready to throw the baby out with the bath water.

dougeyjones,

"I don’t have a clue what anybody is talking abt in here any more."

Neither do we.
Having a block feature would indeed be useful. I rarely use it on fora that offer that option, but when another poster spouts 'noise' consistently, it is nice to be able to read the forum without seeing their posts.  Something that the powers that be might consider.
I'm on a few forums, not just in Audio. I have to ask: why are you making it your problem? If you insist on living your life from the outside/in & not the reverse, you're in for a world of never-ending pain.  Who's then most responsible for this state of affairs? Exactly.
When I run into someone especially noxious, vindictively reactive & frequently so, I very occasionally use the nuclear bomb. It's this:
Rudeness is a very weak man's imitation of strength.
BTW, DO NOT say this to someone very rude in-person. The chances of it leading to a physically violent response are not negligible. Seriously.

+1 for this. It is rampant on this site now. The majority of it here is political in nature. There are a large number of people here now on both sides of the political spectrum and none seem to recognize this in themselves. It is always someone else at fault for their poor behavior.
