Are audiophile speakers turn on for single women?

I recently purchased a pair of speakers that I showed to a non-audiophile female friend of mine. She said they looked beautiful and asked how much they cost. When I told her, her jaw dropped. She then asked if I was using them to pick up hot chicks. Hmm...I told her the only people who get turned on by my audiophile speakers are balding middle-aged men. She had a laugh, but I wondered if anyone tried to impress a girl with his stereo system. High end is a male dominated hobby like sports cars. So have you found a woman who was turned on by your system. I have had no such look. I just get blank stares when I talk about my hobby to women.

Focus on the music. Play some music you both enjoy, talk about the music, dance and enjoy yourselves. Your passion for the music and the great music playing will interest her. Six months later if she is still around, you can start to explain it to her. She will like your passion, but won't understand why you would spend $500 on speaker cables.  Focus on how great the music is and how you enjoy listening and sharing it with her.  Then she'll think you are cool, but have a strange hobby. :-)
I am a fat and ugly audiophile.  In my single days, I would approach gorgeous model type women in bars.  I would look them in the eyes and say "I have a really great pair of high resolution loudspeakers in my apartment.  Wanna come over and listen to them?"  Worked every time.  I got more tail than I knew what to do with. :-D
I'm lucky I guess - my girlfriend enjoys my system. Awhile back I gave her a Bluetooth, t amp, mission standmount setup for her living room and she's rocking out every time I go to her house. We're both in our 50's.

For you young guys, in my opinion don't ask if they like it. Do your thing and be your own man. Women seem to like that- or the ones I've dated anyway. I never was interested in a girl that liked me for my car, house, stereo, etc.

Now go ask her out. Don't hesitate!

I would add that woman are emotional, I don't intend that comment in a negative way.  What I mean its most will connect with the music but they could care less about the equipment that creates the sound.  They like the emotional connection they feel when they hear an amazing recording.

Cars are the same way, some guys think, "if I had a nice car I would get a lot of attention from woman". I have owned many nice cars in my life and I can never remember a woman looking at me or asking me questions at a gas station. They probably look at a sports car as a mid life crisis in action.  My wife gets a ton of attention driving my cars by herself though, all from men, me included.  Now that's sexy.

Morale of the story; buy things you enjoy and consider it a large bonus If you find someone else who shares your passion.
