Yusef Lateef Has Died at 92

When I heard he died I put on Eastern Sounds and sat down to listen my 15 yr old dog laid his head in the exact sweet spot between my speakers and stayed there for five plays of the disc. I guess you had to be there
Anyway Yusef Lateef was a great man who lived a long great life.

I bought his album "The Blue Yusef Lateef" around 1970. My rock'n'roll buddies thought I was weird for listening to stuff like that! The song "Like It Is" has been one of my all-time favorites, as well as one of the most haunting songs I've ever heard.

Was truly talented, God bless his soul.

I will miss his wonderful talents. RIP.
