I had setup my Bluesound Pulse Mini speaker with a turntable and it made me realize that I really needed to get satelite speakers to bring back the image aspect of music.
I could have purchased a second pulse mini and had them run as a stereo pair, but that was a more expensive solution.
After some auditioning at my local music store I opted for the Yorville YSM5-2. There are lager models from Yorkville but these fit my space and budget ($199 CDN each)
The yorkville line are designed, engineered and quality controlled here in Canada, but made in China to exacting specifications.
The fit and finish is to a very high standard and their musical performance is right up there also.
Most speakers that only have a 5" driver tend to suffer from lack of bass, but baring the very low 20Hz to 45Hz frequencies, these speakers perform exceptionally well and provide ample bass.
The tweater performs to the same high level, providing nice smooth highs without a hint of glare, and the matching of the bass driver to the tweater performance provides a very even and flat frequency response from 20Hz to way above what my ears are capable of discerning - probably 20kHz.
Although the speakers are really designed for near field environments (i.e. rcording studios), they perform equally as well in my 40ft x 17ft room and provides a very nice image when sightly toed in.
Being a "cable nut" - I have used great performing power and interconnect cables, which contributes greatly to their stellar performance.

All-in-all a very worthwhile investment on a shoestring budget
Yorkville also produced a whole line of speakers and sub woofers for the music recording industry, and their pricing is pretty competative
