wrong to try a luxman CL38uC preamp with mcintosh mc225?

I have a C22 Mk IV but I am tempted to try the Luxman CL38uC Preamp with my MC225, clearaudio concept MC and Klipschorns. Everything is minty.

Only play vinyl for music but use XLR input for 2-channel Blu-ray concerts.

I don’t understand line levels and clipping.

I appreciate opinions.

Usually at the line level it's very rare you overdrive a preamp (clip). "Clipping" is when a preamp or amplifier tries to output more than it can. The signal peaks get clipped.
