World record elapsed time set!

Just pulled off a Kiseki Blue that has been reminding me it’s time for retirement.

Just for kicks, I set a timer to find out how long it takes to fiddle and settle on an acceptable sonic performance.

Feikert jig and visual adjustment of the usual parameters took 21:36. End results better than expected. Random nudging/twisting resulted in landing on the "X" grids on the 2-3 try!

Backup Soundsmith Otello $499(now $599) on an old VPI Classic w/SS Counterintuitive into a Primaluna EV0 100 all tube phono.

Highly recommended as a spare when your $1-2K+ primary cartridge becomes tired.

Hey @tablejockey, is the 21:36 minutes/seconds or hours/minutes? Just kidding, well maybe not. Good job and enjoy the music

In the past, I have wasted HOURS attempting to achieve "perfection" with the primary carts.

Pure luck landing on the tiny "X" mark on just a few attempts.

Funny thing is, I don't think my hearing these days is sensitive enough to hear "accuracy"?

I can only imagine If I did have a $50K+ rig, how I could drive myself crazy. At that level, I suppose one just pays a "professional" to do the dirty work?

I see in my original post my Otello was $499. Correction- 5 years ago it was $399!

Definitely one of the better "value" carts to use.
