Wireworld Platinum Starlight® 10 Twinax and AQ Diamond

Interested in hearing thoughts from those who compared these ethernet cables or have experience with either of these cables . Sonic character, tone, dynamics, imaging…all good stuff that matters that you observed when adding these cables.

NOT interested in hearing from those who don’t think cables matter. This is not that forum. Let’s be civil and stay on topic.

Current setup:

Configuration 1: eero mesh network node -> Purist Audio CAT 7 -> Meitner MA3i

Configuration 2: eero mesh network node -> Purist Audio CAT 7 -> Aurender N200 -> Audience Studio One USB -> Meitner MA3i

Sources: Qobuz, Tidal, local music library, Roon or Aurender Conductor native Aurender processing

Looking to upgrade ethernet cable. Not a tweaker - don’t need switches, regens, fiber optic isolation, etc.

TIA!

@audphile1 , thanks for the Meitner feedback.  I heard from others that they are very happy they invested in the "i" upgrade, although one got beaten up mercilessly by tariffs when the DAC was shipped back.  That was not supposed to happen.

@buellrider97 , I am still a babe in these woods, learning as I go, enjoying what I have and what comes next, sometimes with a big win, other times taking one step forward and three back.  So it goes. Regarding your long ethernet run, this has been discussed elsewhere on Audiogon and those threads were my inspiration.  I have a 50ft run from router to my system's switch and opted for fiber optic cable and converters rather than going for a long run of ethernet cable.  There are pluses and minuses all around, many opinions, many ways to get from here to there.  For me, fiber was a reasonably priced/ good quality solution from router to switch, with a quality ethernet cable from switch to device.  According to the cognoscenti, the last few feet leading to the device are what really matters.  As to which ethernet cable, or if you even need a network filter, it took me a number of tries, but I'm there now... until I'm not, and something else catches my fancy.

Interested in hearing your opinion when you get your dac back. Message me please. Thx

@audphile1 I’m also looking to upgrade  my network cable and thinking about AQ Diamond, WW Starlight and Audience.  I was surprised to read that you’re no longer using the Stealth USB and went back to Audience. Curious why?  I also use the Stealth USB (without tuning collar) which is by far the best USB cable I’ve tried.  The limited reviews are also very good.  Almost like a component upgrade. I was also considering the Stealth network cable, BUT, and being as diplomatic as I can, their USB seems to be very “temperamental” at least in my system. I’ve already sent it back once for a connection problem warranty repair and now occasionally hear static through one channel until I “play” with the connection until the static dissipates. Anyhow, I don’t want to change the topic of this thread and look forward to hearing how your network cable shopping turns out.

@marco1 Stealth USB was incredible. Sonically.
However, I ran into a situation where I needed Stealth to replace the cable (it didn’t work) and ran into a brick wall called Stealth customer service. It went on for months. I never got it resolved by Stealth but I did get support from the dealer. In the end it worked out and got a refund. Unfortunately I had to return the USB cable and never got a replacement.
I went with Audience Studio One and it’s great. Love it. Actually prefer it over their more expensive FrontRow cable.
I was considering stealth network cable but my experience with their USB cable tells me it’s not the brightest idea.
Audience Ethernet cable s amazing. And their customer support is top notch. A winning combo as far as I’m concerned.

@audphile1 Very interesting.  Seems your experience with Stealth is similar to mine, both with the cable and customer service.  Fortunately I was able to get my cable repaired and returned to me.  I too was considering their network cable but now Sergei will not respond to either me, or my/his dealer.  So like you, my experience with Stealth is telling me it’s time to move on.  At this point I’m leaning towards the Audience Hidden Treasure.  I currently use their speaker cables in another one of my systems and I’m very happy with them. Normally I don’t deal with boutique companies but the Stealth USB got such good reviews I made an exception.  Hopefully it doesn’t poop out again.  At the prices they charge there is really no excuse for poor services.
