Will Bluetooth ever sound great?

Do you think a codec will ever be invented that sounds as good as a direct connection?  For reference, I use USB B out of my windows laptop direct to USB C to a DAC amp.  Bluetooth doesn't even come close for me.

What do you think?

I'm going there.

Devialet Phantom I Silver. Gold is louder but the Silver has a more refined tweeter. If I were starting, I'd just plug in a Silver and enjoy the music. No wires. No complications. But I'm in too deep. Just installed my sixth turntable which is a Basis with Lyra Atlas single coil.

Bang & Olufsen Beolab A9.

Even Marshall Woburn.

Is your post specifically about wireless streaming or just bluetooth?  You can stream wirelessly over your home network losslessly and it does sound great.
No.
I do not.
Don’t care either.
Why not you ask.
Because the SQ of a BT program is very dependant on the quality of the source. Phones or PCs will NEVER sound "great."
I think you are barking up a strangled tree.
There is no way to improve a recorded signal but 100 ways to make it worse.
