Why is the snake oil topic closed?

I suspect there are more people out there talking about fighting windmills than tele or clock tweaks or most any MD product for that matter.

You can always tell a losing proposition in any area when the purveyor instinctively turns to personal attacks and namecalling when challenged on a topic.

The snakes are certainly quite brazen these days. I wonder why? Do people find it entertaining? Brash, snarky brazen snakes > the sneaky more secretive ones?   Brash is in these days I hear.

The burnin' question is do snake oil salesmen elect their representative or is that position just up for grabs?
