I just spliced together two different kinds of cables using those cone shaped twist wire splicers and the result is some of the best sounding cables I’ve ever heard. Part of what makes them sound so good is that they are now long enough to connect my speakers to to the amplifier when the speakers are in a better position in the room. I don't think anybody actually needs to come over and hear these cables. Try it yourself with your own cables!
