Whats playing on your system today?

Today I decided to listen to two of my favorite rock guitar heros and one great vocalist. Guitarist' Robin Trower, Ronnie Montrose and vocalist Davey Pattison.

I listened to Trower songs:
Bridge of sighs, Stitch in time, The fool and me, my personal favorite- Too rolling stoned and others.....

Then I pulled out "Gamma".
I listened to: Razor King, Wish I was and Skin and bone and others.....

Davey Pattison hooked has also up with Michael Shenker also. I really enjoyed my day so far. Anybody else heard anything good?

@nutty - Thanks for the mention of ELP's "Tarkus". Was at Plaid Room Records this morning and plucked a nice copy out of the "new today" used record bin.
@tparr  - Welcome to the thread! So, I checked out the Peter More recommendation and it sounds pretty good. Unfortunately, it appears that it is not available on CD or LP, just streaming or download. I don't like purchasing downloads. I'll try streaming it to check it out on my big rig.
I think there is a "Guilty Pleasures" thread out there somewhere. No time to look for it at the moment. Trying to complete my workweek commitments at the moment.
@arcam88

Watch the basket people walk around and mumble

Great tune. Off of a great album. Happy Weekend!
@nutty - Somehow I'm not familiar with City Boy. So I'm checking out "Dinner at the Ritz" via Spotify now. Only into the second track, but so far I like it.....
@nutty - I've been listening to City Boy for a couple of days. I hear shades of Crack the Sky, Sweet, Supertramp, Queen and even a little Beatles. Pretty good stuff.
Kraftwerk - "Autobahn" - 2009 Parlophone Records Remastered LP - Fantastic!
@boxer12 - So do you, you know, have a boxer12? Enquiring minds need to know...... :~)
@boxer12 - I thought maybe you had a Ferrari BB512 or Testarossa. Or VW Beetle or Subaru...;~)
@nutty - I love The Tubes, especially the earlier stuff before "The Completion Backwards Principle". Have you ever hear their live album - "What Do You Want From Live"? It's a fantastic album for fans of The Tubes and the musicianship is outstanding. I saw them live, right around the time of the taping for the live album. It was one of my top live shows ever.
@uberwaltz - How much did you have to pay for the non-working CEC belt drive transport? Is it sounding great? I had a couple of dedicated transports in the past and they seemed to sound better than using a CDP or DVDP for a CD transport.
@uberwaltz - I love it! The Tubes - "Young and Rich". I'm a big fan of the band. Their live album - "What do you Want From Live" has been in my semi-regular rotation since 1978...

Young and Rich - The Tubes

Young and Rich
Everything you desire
Light bulbs with shades
in every room

And work is play
Nothing must come to hard
It comes in the mail
Most every day

I could respect a man who had it all
And he'd toss the ball away
I know I'm not that kind
I wouldn't mind to
Have a chance thrown my way

Enjoy the new cartridge. Have fun......
@uberwaltz @dougsat @pops

I love both of those Dave Mason albums - "Alone Together" and "Certified Live" Great stuff.
@boxer12 - I've seen you mention Silver Jews a few times. I'm only familiar with their song "San Francisco BC". It's a hoot. Love it. Got a recommendation about where to start with further discovery of Silver Jews?
@boxer12 @uberwaltz

I'm a big fan of Adrian Belew. I've got all of his earlier solo albums from 1982's "Lone Rhino" through 1994's "Here". Stopped buying when he went pretty much all experimental guitar. I'm also a fan of his work with The Bears (Local Cincinnati Boys), King Crimson, David Bowie, Talking Heads, Zappa, Paul Simon and all the other artists he's played with/for.

Adrian is from the Cincinnati Area and I'm fortunate to have seen him here many times, solo electric band and acoustic, with The Bears and playing with Psychodots. Always awesome. I'm seeing him again here in October.

If you haven't heard it before, check out his version of "Crying" from "The Acoustic Adrian Belew". It is outstanding, as is the entire album.
@uberwaltz

Thanks for the link to the Cincinnati Magazine article.

I like "Young Lion", but I think "Mr. Music Head" is my favorite.
@uberwaltz - Was going to invite you over for a beer if you were working nearby. Maybe some time in the future......
@uberwaltz - Where are you in Kentucky? Curious, that's the state of my birth and my youth. I now live across the Ohio River, in Cincinnati.
@uberwaltz - I'm listening to records mostly this week, and I only post those in the "what's on your TT" thread. When streaming I post on your "what are you streaming" thread. Same for CD's. I post those on the "minority report" thread, but haven't listened to many CD's lately.
@uberwaltz - You may be onto something. I think people do have lives outside of their listening rooms and AudiogoN. The weather has $ucked in the Midwest and Northern US. Maybe, since the weather finally broke, people actually went outside? I have wilderness first aid training for 16 hours this weekend and a 7 day sailing trip in the South Keys in a couple of weeks. I won't have access to music, or AudiogoN........

Happy Summer to Everyone! Go outside and smell the pollen and mold (it's been really wet here)! And enjoy!
@uberwaltz - I'll be humming "Sailing" and "Southern Cross" while I'm looking at the stars at night.... I've always got music. It's just in my head....
@uberwaltz - My son has his learner's permit. We could have shared the driving.
@boxer12 - I like that Frente album. I've had it on CD since it came out. Interesting sound quality. Very crisp sounding, without being harsh. I love their version of " Bizarre Love Triangle".
@cobbone1 - I've never heard of a type/genre of music called Northern Soul. Looked it up and was familiar with many songs on a "Northern Soul" greatest hits album. So, what is a "Northern Soul" event? Concert? Dance Party?
@boxer12 - What a coincidence. I just listened to  Clem Snide - "Moment in the Sun" on Spotify, just a few minutes ago.... Decent song. La,La,La,La,La..........
@boxer12 - Funk/Rock Fusion might be a good description.... Check out their cover of Stone Temple Pilot's - "Interstate Love Song"

Steve Farrone's Farm Fur - "Interstate Love Song"

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eWE5QZT3k3Q

Check out the Wiki on Steve Farrone if you are not familiar with him. He's considered by many to be one of the best rhythm drummers ever. He gets a lot of work.....
Marc Cohn - S/T - On CD. The LP is currently too expensive to buy. Hopefully someday I'll find the MoFi LP for a decent price. It's a GREAT album......
@uberwaltz - As much as I hate to admit it, I like Paul Young. I've got 3-4 of his records, including the singles LP. I think he has a great pop/rock voice.
@boxer12 - I've always liked "Come on Feel" The Lemonheads. Good stuff from the mid-early '90's. One of my favorite periods for music.
Kathleen Edwards - "Hard on Everyone"

From her upcoming new release. This first song is a winner.....

Spotify
Frontier Folk Nebraska - "Desert Car Chase"

From their excellent album - "Frontier F**k Nebraska"

Local Heroes from here in Cincinnati (actually, Northern Kentucky). Was at the show where they recorded their live album at NKY's Southgate House Revival.
@arctikdeth  @2sack  - Have you guys seen John Carpenters "Vampires"? Love the movie and the soundtrack is Awesome. Bought it on CD immediately after seeing the movie....
@nutty  - Happy New Year to you. Frank Marino and Mahogany Rush were scheduled to play at Ludlow Garage in Clifton. I think it got rescheduled, but will probably be postponed again. You should check them out if they do end up coming to town..... I was thinking about going. Saw them many, many moons ago.....

@ozzy - "Amused to Death" is a concept album. I don't think any of the individual tracks hold up on their own. However, played in its entirety, in one sitting, it hold up pretty well. But only if you like it. Some/many won't. I like it, but it's not on my desert island list.

I think many of the comments you read about it are due to it being mixed with Qsound spatial enhancing processing to give it a more 3D soundfield. It indeed does have 3D sound qualities.
