Whats playing on your system today?

Today I decided to listen to two of my favorite rock guitar heros and one great vocalist. Guitarist' Robin Trower, Ronnie Montrose and vocalist Davey Pattison.

I listened to Trower songs:
Bridge of sighs, Stitch in time, The fool and me, my personal favorite- Too rolling stoned and others.....

Then I pulled out "Gamma".
I listened to: Razor King, Wish I was and Skin and bone and others.....

Davey Pattison hooked has also up with Michael Shenker also. I really enjoyed my day so far. Anybody else heard anything good?

Jimi Hendrix - Band of Gypsies and Songs for Groovy Children.  Getting ready for the Experience Hendrix concert tonight.

Grateful Dead - So Many Roads.  I only had the 3rd of 5 CDs when I moved.  Found a used version missing disc 3.  It was meant to be.  Reunited and it sound so good.

Sabotage - Black Sabbath.  The Super Deluxe edition with 2 CDs from their US tour in 75.

Santana - Zebop.  The 30th anniversary edition CD.  I know it’s compressed compared to other versions but it sounds the best to me.  A good match for my old guy ears.

Elvis Costello- his 1st 3 albums.  My Aim is True, This Year’s Model and Armed Forces.

Dire Straits - Brothers in Arms 40th anniversary edition that was just released.  It has over 2 hours of live music from a concert in San Antonio from their 85 tour.

The Who - in honor of Pete Townshend’s 80th birthday.  More common with classic rockers that have made it this far.  Robin Trower 80 this year.  Seeing him finally next month but passing on the latest Who retirement tour.  I’ve been going since they started retiring in 1980.  I might if it was somewhere other than Fenway Park.  Worst place for a concert.  So many obstructed view seats and seats that face the wrong way.  Terrible acoustics and the facilities are a joke.  To top it off the parking is expensive and you can’t tailgate.  Oh well, glad I saw them one last time in Quebec and happy birthday Pete!

Did you listen to the new Counting Crows album?  Recently streamed it and it was worth a listen.

Jethro Tull - Teacher.  1st release from upcoming Still Living in the Past book box set.

Great selections.  I have multiple versions of Brothers in Arms including the SACD.  Streaming the 40th anniversary edition and it sounds great as always with a bonus concert recording from their 85 tour for the album.  I just put together a Dire Straits playlist.  It’s almost all of their studio and live albums.  13 hours long.  All good.
RIP Rick Derringer.
ELP is definitely a desert album.

Ambrosia - Ambrosia.  Debut album helped by Alan Parsons genius.  Nice nice very nice.

Bob Marley - 3 Little Birds.  Watching the sunset on the lake on a beautiful night

Walk This Road -  new Doobie Bothers album.  Great to hear the old gang back together.

Jeff Beck - Live in The Cage 1980.  Audience recording of a show I saw live.

Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here.  It’s the 50th anniversary.  50 years of musical bliss.

For Earth Below - Robin Trower.  50th anniversary edition.  Saw him live for the first time this weekend.  Still rocking at 80!
