Highly enjoying this The Nude Party lp!

A late 60s Rock/top 40's throw back with a Lou Reed twist.
Thanks for the recommendation Steve

Hey Steve,  I enjoyed John Hiatt - "Slow Turning" - Catalog #  B0027601-1. Per Discogs, it is a re-issue on Red vinyl. I have not previously owned this album in any format, however several cuts are included on a Greatest Hits CD I own. I like the material very much, as I like pretty much everything I've ever heard from John Hiatt. He's a gem IMHO. But I didn't find this vinyl LP to be anything special. It's good material, but the SQ is just OK. Not special like the previous listen to my new copy of the re-mastered "Hollywood Town Hall".

If I were looking for a copy of this record, I think I would try to find the earliest vinyl release possible, or maybe an Audiophile pressing, if there is one.
Thanks @reubent ,

I own a pp and it sounds superb. One of John's best IMO.
As I ponder it over the AM Java, Hollywood Town hall was something of a similar launch point for me as well @reu
Veering to a path like Whiskey Town, Son Volt, Wilco, Blue Rodeo, Junkies...
Fascinating and totally unexpected Christmas gift from non audiophile brother in law:

lovely Box set of the LP discs launched on the Voyager spacecraft, gold colored vinyl, picture book... nicely curated

I plan to aim at least one Schuman generator towards space when I play this....
Cool box set Jim. Let me know when you do that, as I want to note if I sleep better that night.
@slaw Happy Birthday to your mom Steve.  My Dad came home from the hospital Christmas Eve and is back to causing trouble for everyone...  he’ll turn 91 in a couple of weeks.
There is quite a bit of information in the literature about the health benefits of the 40 hz tone.   Folks set up tone generators in their basements, some say at just below audible level.  I wonder about timbre since a plain sign wave doesn’t sound particularly salubrious to me.  Further evidence to me, and the real bass players around here can probably say better, is that after a longer session of playing around on my electric bass (I play along to Foghat albums) I can really feel the effect (I think it’s the rich harmonics) in my head as well as the rest of my body.  More study needed.
Steve based on your prodigious listening marathon sessions , I am not sure you sleep...
James, I’m thinking about placing several around the house? Seriously.

Unless I'm not understanding your post correctly, sounds like you're using some version?
James ;-) I think Honey Hush as loud volumes will suffice !

on a more serious note, and I posted on this and in one of my system photos is a RTA shot of scaling acoustic bass - tons of harmonics ( and low and behold w upper harmonics.... stereo and ambient information ) lots of energy left at 250 HZ....

yes the fundamental might be mono, but...,,
Jim, You’re losing me with all the tech talk. I’m very old school, everything by listening.

When I read about things that make sense to me,....I'm willing to try. Not scientific at all but so far in this hobby I've a descent track record and feel I've spent money wisely.
"You Don't Own Me Anymore".

I got caught up on The Secret Sisters late this year. As much as I love "Saturn Return", I highly recommend this lp!
Bought this on a whim..Dean Peer "Airborne" sealed
Has the Cardas symbol on the jacket.

Reminds me of Steve Morse
Just returned from visiting mom for Christmas.....and immediately warmed up the rig...

Solti conducts Zoltán Kodály - Háry János Suite & Tänze Aus Galánta. London Symphony Orchestra. From the 18 LP Solti-Edition box set Vol 10, sides 21&22. DECCA 1981, German pressing/release
Hope you had a nice Christmas Brian. Welcome back. That’s a nice set of records. I should probably buy it.

My New Year’s resolutions are going to be the following:

1. Play more records

2. Do more drinking
Thanks James, I did indeed, and hope you did the same.

The Solti-Edition by DECCA are really nice collections. I only have two of the volumes so far, but the others are on my radar. I’m a bit of a bargain hunter for those box sets, and at times, one may be available for well under what they typically sell for on Discogs. So, I try to be patient.
