Regarding "Temple Beautiful"...If you're into Chuck Prophet, IMO. this is his most consistent lp in a few years. Highly enjoyable.
Don't judge me too harshly for my next (last) lp I'll play today. Little River Band "Time Exposure". Had it for decades. Never cleaned it. It's a plum/Capitol label/no bar code.
Just bought my ticket to see Alejandro next year!

@uberwatlz,

You have a lot of good music to discover my friend. IMO, that is the main reason for the music threads...to introduce unknown music to some.
@reubent ,

My guess is "Heavy Horses"= $12.99 / Supertramp = $1.00, assuming the condition on all were nice?

BTW, I got in all of the lps I ordered the other week from Oldies. Packaged perfectly, arrived crisp & clean, no issues.
Just thought I'd put this tid-bit out there that I just learned of. In the "Buddy & Jim" lp was a card describing their radio show on SiriusXM's Outlaw Country. Of course this was from 6 years ago.
@reubent ,

Great! I've gotten quite a few from Insound through the years at awesome prices.
Up next a band I discovered fairly recently, (thankfully)…………....

Califone  "Quicksand/Cradlesnakes"
Welcome to the thread @morguldrelb, @teo_audio, @fixedincome . Sorry if I've left anyone out.

Gonna start with one or two from last week to warm up...………

Little River Band  "Time Exposure" side 2.
Alejandro Escovedo  "The Crossing"  sides 3&4.
……………………………………………………
Buddy Miller  "Your Love & Other Lies"
Buddy Miller & Jim Lauderdale  "Buddy & Jim"
James Taylor "October Road"
Regarding the Jeremy Messersmith lp….it is another enjoyable record by him. I’d classify it as alternative pop. SQ is VERY good. A lot of bass info, if your room/system is set up right, you’ll be happy.

@reubent,

Do you own "Boys & Girls"? It is a great record! Fairly easily found at your LRS.
BTW, for a nice Christmas tune..."Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" from "October Road" is really nice. I have heard it before on the radio or cd in another's home and didn't think much of it. Hearing it on vinyl in my home system...well, very nice! I think it's actually the best sounding song on the lp.
"Late Stage Capitalism" is one of those rare records that not only gets better after every play but gets better as the record progresses from start to finish. Listened to it twice this evening.
"Future Games". I'm pretty familiar with this one. Hoping SQ is improved over my two copies. Interesting that the jacket in this box set is more yellow looking instead of the light olive green?
Regarding "October Road"...it is the MOV pressing. (First time on vinyl). I got it for $15 on the music sale the other week. I noticed that Analog Spark is releasing it as a double vinyl set for $40. (First time on vinyl in the US) That fact, may automatically make it sound better. I’m happy with my copy. I’ve never heard a bad sounding JT lp.

Up next....Jeremy Messersmith  "Late Stage Capitalism"
Sides 3&4 of the Roger Waters lp is enjoyable in that there's a somewhat different song structure than we're use to, still, you know it's a RW record.
@uberwaltz,

You're lucky... my highly modded McCormack needs around 6 hours of warm up to begin serious listening. Pat @ SMC Audio says the Plitron transformer needs 24 hours before it is at optimum operating temp at it's core.

Let's see, oh, the music....
@uberwaltz,

You sound very similar to myself, buddy. What amp/s are you currently using?
………………………
@reubent ,

For some reason, every time I think about playing that lp, (The Pretenders) I choose another. I gotta stop that.
Regarding the latest Roger Waters lp. It seems to borrow quite a bit on The Wall. Ultimate dynamics aren’t there because of compression. Still, it’s nice to hear him, IMO. Then comes side 3, it becomes something a little new and different. More plays are in order. A final determination will have to be forthcoming.
@reubent,

A few weeks ago, I remembered you posting Dire Straits "Brothers In Arms". You never posted your impressions? This stood out to me because you normally don't buy the  (audiophile lps). I am interested in your impressions as I own several copies.
@reubent ,

How do you find the sonics?

Well since you have no other lp copy to compare, I guess my line of questioning is diminished?

I have a dbl lp copy mastered by the late Stan Ricker where  "Ride Across The River"  wow'd me the first time I heard it because it lasted longer than on the original copy.
Neko Case "Canadian Amp"
…………………….
Of course I listened to Sarah Shook.

Kenny Rogers & The First Edition "Ruby, Don't Take Your Love to Town"
