It was a long wait but it finally arrived.

ELO Eldorado on MoFi Super Vinyl.

Sounds absolutely fantastic.

The Doors - The Soft Parade

1969 - Elektra Records

Original copy with absolutely fantastic SQ but just a little bit of background noise on the quieter passages.

With this being my favorite Doors album thinking about picking up a new remastered copy but am concerned the SQ won't be as good and I really hate it when that happens.

Jefferson Airplane - Crown of Creation

1968/2015 RCA Victor/Friday Music Remaster

@slaw

Yes, another missed opportunity not buying All the Roadrunning when it was initially released on vinyl. I check every now and then and haven’t seen used copies for less than $400. Such a shame.

Mark Knopfler & Emmylou Harris - Real Live Roadrunning

Streaming but sure wish it was available on vinyl.

One of my favorite albums. Their version of Why Worry is a killer. Emmylou sounds like an angel.

Dire Straits - Making Movies

1980 WB Records

Great SQ but then again isn't that the case with all Dire Straits albums.

Genesis - Selling England By The Pound

My original 1973 Charisma/Atlantic copy. Audiophile SQ.

I had purchased the Rhino 2014 Half-Speed Remaster a few years back and while it is noise free the SQ and especially the bass is not even close to being as good as my original copy.

With that said I continue to listen to my original slightly noisy copy.

Such a shame.

Allman Brothers Band - Seven Turns

1990/2015 Friday Music Remaster

Another great pressing job by Friday Music

Procol Harum - A Salty Dog

1969/2017 MOV Remaster

Great SQ and a great replacement for my original A&M pressing that had seen better days.

One of my favorites of many of their albums.

Luigi Cherubini - Requiem in D Minor

Czech Philharmonic Orchestra - Igor Markevitch

1963 Deutsch Grammophon - Germany

Beautiful quiet recording picked up at Half Price Books many years ago.

Moody Blues - Seventh Sojourn

1972 Threshold Records

A Beautiful warm and calming production.

Electric Light Orchestra - Face The Music

1975 United Artists Records

Great album with great production and SQ.

I'm getting anxious for the release of the remastered MSFL Eldorado.

Flaming Lips - Transmissions From The Satellite Heart

1993/2011 Warner Bros Remaster

Dead quiet pressing from Pallas.

The Byrds - Mr Tambourine Man

2013 Sundazed Mono Reissue

Fantastic SQ pressed at QRP.

Clark, Hillman, Crosby, McGuinn and a 12 String Rickenbacker.

Who else could get away with covering four Dylan songs on their first album.

@tomic601

Amazing that Infidels was 20 years after his first album. And more amazing that he is still releasing albums.

Bob Dylan - Infidels

1983 Columbia Records

Love this album. Mark Knopfler and Mick Taylor on guitars.

Santana III - 1970/2010 Music On Vinyl Remaster

Great detail and deep bass but definitely not a warm analog pressing.

With that said it is a great great Santana album.

Fleetwood Mac - Penguin

1973/2020 Reprise Records reissue

I don't have an original pressing to compare to but this release sounds pretty good. All around great SQ.

Neil Young  - Tonight's The Night

Original 1975 Reprise Records

Great SQ all around. I don't remember it having such deep bass. Fantastic.

Beach Boys - Smiley Smile

Analog Productions 180 gram Mono remaster just received from Acoustic Sounds after being on backorder for about a year.

I've been waiting a long time to replace my original 1967 Brother Mono copy.and I am not disappointed.

Dead quiet and the SQ is fantastic from the whispers on Wonderful to the thumping bass on Getting Hungry.

The Byrds - Fifth Dimension

Sundazed 2013 Mono Reissue - Kevin Gray lacquer

Great SQ. The bass at the start of Eight Miles High is a 10.

@spiritofradio

I agree. Ryan Adams has released a ton of great albums since going solo but I still favor the Whiskeytown albums.

Whiskeytown - Stranger’s Almanac

”Where’s my nurse with my bottle of pills”

Who else but Ryan Adams

Emerson, Lake and Palmer - Pictures At An Exhibition

1971/1980 MFSL Reissue

Yes - Tales From Topographic Oceans 1973 Atlantic Records

Chris Squire - Fish Out of Water 1975 Atlantic Records

@mammothguy54

Crisis was one of my favorites by Supertramp. Saw them live right after the Quietest Moments album. I can still envision them on stage. One of my favorite bands from the 70’s.Hodgson and Davies were a great pair.

Supertramp - Crisis! What Crisis? 1975 A&M Records

A great album that doesn't get enough credit in the shadow of Crime Of The Century and Breakfast In America.

Flaming Lips - Transmissions From the Satellite Heart 1993/2001 Reissue WB Records - Germany

Timbuk 3 - Some of the Best Of Timbuk 3/Field Guide 1993 I.R.S. Records on AAD CD version.

@mwinkc

Yes, Todd Rundgren was a true genius of the time with the first three sides of the albums instruments and vocals performed by him solo in the studio.

Coincidently he also produced Meatloaf's Bat Out of Hell album.

Strawbs - Bursting At The Seams 1973 A&M Records

The Pogues - Hell’s Ditch 1990 Island Records on AAD version CD

Following up on the Degritter discussion not sure if you guys read the article from The Audiophile Man.

VINYL: IT HAS TO EARN THE RIGHT

Talks about six passes through the Degritter.

Noticed your question to @slaw on the SQ of the Colvin & Earle Fantasy Records album and for my own curiosity did a comparison of my copy to digital. I purchased the album shortly after it was released so could possibly be a different pressing than what slaw just received.

I streamed the album on Amazon which has a decent 24/96 hi-res offering and compared the vinyl copy in real time switching back and forth between the two sources.

The vinyl copy sounds real nice as I have always thought and is definitely warmer than the digital version as expected. But, the highs on the digital version sounded more crisp and forward. The acoustic guitars and voices sounded somewhat more crisp but not excessive. Bass sounded similar on both versions. At least on that listening I preferred the digital version.

Also, Steve Earle recorded on even his earliest albums digitally so can't say if this album was recorded initially in analog or digital.

The report you get from slaw could be completely the opposite based on the different systems and slaw most likely has a much more technically audiophile ear than mine.

For what it's worth there you go.

Pregame listening before the playoffs start.

Spirit - Dr Sardonicus 1970/1979 Reissue Epic Records

Rod Stewart - The Rod Stewart Album 1969 Mercury Records
