The Tekton Encores were my previous speakers, now in the system of a very happy audiophile in Houston, who drove halfway across the country to pick them up at my house a few weeks ago.

I moved on to Fyne Audio F704s, which I auditioned in April at Suncoast Audio in Florida. I listened for two hours and bought them on the spot. They arrived a week ago and are still breaking in, but I am very pleased with them.

Now Playing:

Leonard Cohen, "Old Ideas"

Hi Steve,

Sounding great! I was between speakers for several weeks, but they finally arrived, so happy days are here again. Really missed spinning records.
Hey Steve! So glad to see this marvelous discussion thread continuing to thrive.

Now Playing:

PJ Harvey, "To Bring You My Love"
Big PJ Harvey fan here, and glad to see her getting some love in this excellent thread. For those up for a deeper dive, there are now demo albums for each of her major releases, all of them highly recommended. I got these a month ago and really enjoy these "roughed up" alternative takes on the originals.

Don Pullen/Sam Rivers- Capricorn Rising
Keith Jarrett - Bop Be
Graham Parker - Howlin' Wind
Peter Case - Blue Guitar
Boston - self-titled
Thelonious Monk - Live At the It Club
Booker Ervin - The In-Between

Amen, R F Sayles, amen. What a great band. McLennan's solo records are also terrific, especially Horsebreaker Star.

He (and they) will be missed.

Mosaic's The Complete Commodore Jazz Recordings, Vol. 1, 23 LPs of sheer bliss. I've been listening most of the day, working my way up to Coleman Hawkins. Billie Holiday and Chu Berry are around the corner...

Thank you, eBay!
@spiritofradio    "Magico" is certainly one of my favorite records on the ECM label. Thanks for the recommendation of "Sanfona." I'll get on that posthaste!
Busy day working and listening, so here's the soundtrack thus far:

Richard and Linda Thompson -- "Hokey Pokey"

Timbuk 3 -- "Eden Alley"

Marshall Crenshaw -- "Field Day"

R.E.M. -- "Reckoning"

Bud Powell -- Mosaic box set (Blue Note Recordings)

Charlie Haden, Jan Garbarek, Egberto Gismonti -- "Magico"

Steve, indeed I have. What an underrated 80s band. I need to put them back in regular rotation and fill in some gaps with a few missing Church records.
Binging on the Beatles Blue Box:

Please Please Me
With the Beatles
Beatles for Sale
Hard Day's Night
Help
Rubber Soul
The White Album
Revolver

All records in mint condition. Thanks, eBay!
@slaw

Me too, Steve. I need to do a deeper dive on my Church albums one evening.
