What is wrong with me?

Why do I like the sound of this old amp?

I really like the old tube sound. Two Chinese brothers started their own audio company after fixing Western Electric gear for a long time. They based their company designs on Western Electric schematics. Because they are that good. I have one the their amps. Line Magnetic 216 integrated. It sounds wonderful.

Much of the magic comes from the speakers used.

18" woofer mated to a large 12 cell horn/compression driver combo.

I’ve never heard WE’s like this, but I have listened to a similar vintage RCA mono system.

Not saying the that the amps are not nice, just that these types of speakers tend to floor me (like A7’s, 19’s and vintage K-Horns for later models).

@dekay I’ve heard a lot of horn speakers (vintage and new as well) but this sound is different. Is it perfect? No. However, the sound is closer to live, not amplified sound - fuller, deeper, warmer with extended notes (slow decay) and an excellent pace.  Many of you would rather hear fast and tight/control notes. Although, exiting and different, to my ears/brain that’s not live music but electronic and artificial bright sounding  reproduction/imitation of sound with an exaggerated extreme frequency on both end of the spectrum and not much music in the middle.
