Not to scratch is the best. Care for it as for vinyl. Do not place the valuable CDs onto car CD player and make copies for that purpouse with descent dedicated CD-recorder(or use audio cassets that can sound in the car not worse than CD-player). I'm crazy and I do that. Lots of my CDs are transfered to the tape for the car purpouses. They've never been onto pocket or car CD-player. If somehow one or more of my CDs are dirty(meaning dusty) I use a drop of RadioShack liquid to extract all accumulated dust.
