What is the Altec 604 sound?

Hi
I have read some reviews of loudspeakers based on Altec 604 two-way coaxials (which are now manufactured by Great Plans Acoustics) and that are even suggested for low-power tube or FirstWatt amplification. In all cases the cabinet is quite big, but still acceptable.
So I was wondering how they sounded since the speaker was designed for theaters, whereas here they would be used for home speakers.
How are they with classical and acoustic music, and especially with low volume night listening where the great sensitivity should make them magical.

Thanks
Alberto

In So Cal? You are welcome to hear my one-off, tri-amped, Super Big Reds using vintage Marantz equipment.  The cabinets are 15.5 cu ft exterior volume.

605s lack the high end of the 604 due to the reduced magnet on the horn.  My brother had a single 605 in a utility cabinet and it was sort of dead sounding even though the horn seemed to work fine.

It is debatabe as to whether Abby Road used 604s or 605s, or both just changing them out over time.
