What does one purchase after owning horns?

I have owned Avantgarde Uno's and sold them because of the lack of bass to horn integration. I loved the dynamics, the midrange and highs. Now faced with a new speaker purchase, I demo speakers and they sound lifeless and contrived. The drama and beauty of live music and even the sound of percussion insturments like a piano are not at all convincing. I have an $8k budget for speakers give or take a thousand. My room is 13'X26' firing down the length. Any good ideas will be appreciated. My music prefrences are jazz/jazz vocalist.

You explained it yourself why Soundlabs don't get much attention. They need 600 SS or ,I assume, about the same tube watts to sound their best. That's what? $30k or so? Or more? Few want and can afford this set up.
I heard that those who don't want or don't like tubes, and have some money, use big older Rowlands with Soundlabs with great result. Rowland 8T and 9T. I would certainly try this combination if I could.
I am unfamiliar with horn speakers. Why can't they play bass without the attached sub? Need to be too big to do it?
And we are talking big. Big speakers, big spaces for them and big money.
After reading this including what Atmasphere said, I have the impression that ideally horn speakers can be the best known design approach. And considering that you can drive them with 5 watts or so at building crushing level...
I appears that the answer to the original question is this: better horns.
Chadeffect, have you tried your Trios with Lamm SETs or some Audio Notes or something like that? I am just asking.
Do they sound different with higher powered amps, tube or ss?
Anyone heard Jadis speakers? I haven't.
Thank you all for the educational posts. Yes, I meant Eurythmie and I saw that posted system - looks very impressive. Well, we moved a little away from the OP but I think it is helpful; I would guess that not many have an experience with high-end horn speakers.
So I guess we settled this. Money and space permitting, nothing can really compete with the best horns.
Well, this thread can only be compared to ongoing MM/MC debate. And let's not bring the insects in; they have nothing to do with it and somehow manage to enjoy life while they have it. Who knows what they "think" of us?
