What cables play nicely with Acoustic BBQ?

If anyone knows the answer to this question, it is here at Audiogon, where many of us have come to love @grannyring's cables.  I have an almost entirely Acoustic BBQ loom - power, DC, balanced IC, single-ended IC, USB, speakers, jumpers - and they absolutely have been the perfect cables for my system.  Best value in hifi, in my experience, and Bill was always a responsive, friendly seller.  It is our hobby's loss that Bill retired from it.

I now am replacing my integrated with new preamp and power amp separates, so I need to add a short balanced IC pair and a power cable.  I have a spare power cable that I can use, so I only need to buy a new pair of .5 or 1m XLR'S.  My initial thought is to keep the existing BBQ cables in the path despite the amplification change because I have zero reason to think they won't be terrific with what I am buying, so my first instinct would be just to buy another pair of BBQ from Bill if they were available. Because they are not, I posted "WTB" ads at Audiomart and AudiophileStyle.com, but I couldn't figure out how to post one here, where it might do the most good. Those ads haven't generated any responses.

Bill has recommended Zavfino Focus XLR's as a good replacement cable, but, at $357 for a non-returnable pair, that's a bit rich for my blood. (Only 1.5m and 2m cables are subject to Zavfino's trial program.)  They also don't show up in the used market (although a pair sold at Audiomart the very morning of the very day that I first heard of Zavfino cables).

If you are using Acoustic BBQ's in your signal path, are there cables at about $200-250 that you have found to have a particular synergy with the rest of your loom?  Alternatively, I am open to buying a used pair of Acoustic BBQ XLR'S, preferably Schroeder Method, so, if any of you has a lead to some, I would appreciate your passing it along.

Thanks for any information you can provide.

@mikerubin,

You can try Audio Envy O’nestian XLR but Zavfino Fusion for bit more money is well worth it, both in terms of performance and by build quality. I have had both of these cables in my system.

You’re likely to get tons of recommendations here but if possible, I would stick with brand that uses OCC or PCOCC copper.

@lalitk, thanks for your assessment. Did you ever have a chance to use either of those cables in a setup that included any Acoustic BBQ signal cables? I am curious about that synergy within a system, even acknowledging that no one else will have my exact system and room acoustics.

@lak, thank you for that very good suggestion.

Mike, out of your price range, but the High Fidelity cables are great with Acoustic BBQ speaker cables.

You could make your own pretty easily. I bet Grannyring would help if needed.

Mike,

You seem to have perfect feedback.  I have a pair of the audio envy cables recommended above i'd loan you if you payshipping.

I'm not looking to sell the as I have them in my second system but can swap them out for a couple of weeks.

@acman3, thanks. I see that High Fidelity cables get some love, but, yes, they are more than I care to spend. I have no experience with DIY cable assembly, but I wouldn’t call on Bill in his retirement for assistance.

@carlsbad, thank you for the most generous offer I have ever received from an audiophile. Please allow me to do some more digging for a used Acoustic BBQ before I decide to look closer at Audio Envy products. I appreciate your offer and may reach out to you once I have a better idea of my intentions.
