I don't know if Type D's are legendary... IIRC they came to market after Peter Snell passed away. However, I stumbled onto a nice used pair and they were my introduction to "better" speakers and better sound. Since then, many speakers have come and gone, but I still put the D's in the rotation and they still make me smile.
