VPI JMW 12.5 replace tonearm wires

I want to upgrade my VPI 12.5 tonearm wires. Can anyone give me advice how to go about the disassembly and reassembly?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have no affliliation with him, but do recommend http://www.britaudio.com/Tone_Arm_Rewires.html for rewiring tonearms. I have the know how and skill to do it myself, but he just did such a superb professional job with the 2 JMW 12.5 tonearms that I sent him that I would not hesitate to do it again.
Interesting thread. Unfortunately, you might end up having to figure it out yourself. Personally, I am hesitant to upgrade from my old JMW-9 because I like the Discovery wire.
Why do you want an "upgrade"?

It is at totally messy job requiring complete teardown of the arm.

VPI knows best! I like the older Discovery wires, but VPI now uses Nordost which they must prefer.
Hi all, I am still looking for someone to give advice on how to disassemble and reassemble the tonearm. I would like to do this myself. For the curious: I received a gift of high-end Cardas wires. I would like to give them a try.

Can the existing wires be removed without destroying them?

Thank you for any advice.
I, too, used BritAudio for their Cardas wire + Cardas clips on my 12.5. They did an excellent and fast turn-around including braiding the wires for the entire length of the run – within the arm as well.

As for doing it yourself, there is a device called a tonearm wire puller. I have never seen one, but apparently that is what is commonly used for interior tonearm rewire jobs. If there is dampening material inside the arm, the required skills to accomplish this would be considerable.
