Volume Change from Media Server to CD

Hi All,

Can someone tell me if this is normal: When I play music from my server and has the volume at 50 and then switch to CD or other, I need to turn the volume down to 20-25. My question is this normal or is there something not working right with my Server. I am using JRMedia and the output volume is set at 80.

The output voltage of your CD player is higher than that of your server so it needs less gain.

100 is nominal for a player.  All else is attenuated. Servers only serve up the files.

Not familiar with JR media but the volume output allows you to match with your other sources.  the CD player is almost certainly default at full volume so have you tried turning the media player up?  If full is 100 then it might match much better.
