Vinshine X Collaboration with Kinki Studio, TheTai Hang power enhancer

What a surprise after installing the Taihang in my system,, in a word, amazing.  Stage depth clarity was amoung one of the first things I notice.  My system consists of tubes pre and power amps, with a digital and analog front end.  Tubes as we know exhibit a second harmonic noise distortion which is a given and something we live with as it’s our perception as being more musical.  Dirty power can add more nastiness to this by way of unfiltered AC.  With the addition of the Taihang it has made all the background information much more clearer.  My speakers are fairly high resolving so was able to take advantage of this additional gain the Taihang give me.  Leading edges from instruments started and stopped more precisely still retaining musicality. Black background noise seemed non existent as we like saying but in this case it really does without straining to not hear.  So clean power can do all this, seems to be!  Also will mention as in some cases experienced with power amps, I sensed no loss in dynamics or compression which is one of the biggest concerns when implementing such products.  This in my first day of listening.  So again I’ll go back to my original statement, amazing!   Alvin’s collaboration as he calls it, has some magic inside this beautifully crafted box.

I ordered my Taihang on 20 May 2025.  It arrived today 8 July 2025.

I have my entire front end, electrostatic speakers, and suwoofers plugged into it.  Pass Labs monoblock amps are plugged straight into the wall, (each one on a dedicated line). The Taihang is on its own separate dedicated line also.

With only about two hours on it, everything sounds more fluid and effortless.  Music sounds cleaner, but smoother and not at all edgy.  Details are more pronounced but not brighter.  I would not say it makes things warmer, but the mid-range does seem more present.  Also, the bass seems tighter and more articulate.  In fact, everything seems more articulate.

It’s almost as if everything is louder (even though the volume setting on my preamp reads the same), yet smoother and more coherent.

I look forward to how it sounds after being plugged in for 300 hours.

@fthompson251 You’re kidding, right?  I hope so, because I must report that there is no stock power cord.  Vinshine-Kinki Studio does not include one, stating:  “As this is a high-performance power device, we recommend using a high-quality power cord that best suits your system’s needs.  Therefore, the el cheapo power cable is not included in the package.”

Somehow I knew this, so in anticipation I ordered an Ice Age 10 awg Copper-Copper cord (big fan here) with a right-angle plug to snake behind my equipment rack.

Second day in my system report:  music is more subtle and nuanced, and thus more interesting.  Treble is sweeter; bass has more punch and solidity.  Soundstage depth has been enhanced quite a bit.  Even old mono classical recordings have more detail and some depth to them.

Many recordings seem more engaging, and I am tempted to listen longer now rather than skipping around.  Music often sounds not like a recording, but like performers in my listening room.

I am tempted to say that music almost sounds slower, because I am hearing more subtle details throughout.  In terms of bass, treble, depth, soundstage, tonality, micro-details, everything is woven in a beautiful coherent wholeness.  The word “organic” comes to mind.

I should also report that the customer service of Vinshine Audio is excellent.

Their Head of Logistics Department, Annie Ng, emailed me several times to let me know the status of my order.

She even emailed me after delivery to double-check that it had been delivered, and that it was working properly.

All in all, to say that I am impressed with the Taihang unit and the way it has improved my system is quite an understatement.
