It's never a good idea to install audio components directly on top of carpeting - it can only compromise ventilation. Anything you can do to get them off the floor is a good idea.

I agree w/cleeds and lalitk - For my gear on carpet... A large ceramic or porcelain tile from Home Depot or Lowes on the carpet and a wood plinth on the tile. These wood platforms from Dawn’s Depot (see link) are a good value: https://www.audiogon.com/listings/stands-21-x-18-x-3-isolation-platform-2017-09-04-accessories Get platform and tile that are sized to fit one another. I do use Vibrapod Cones. Try 3 of them, point down, between the transport and the wood platform. I’ll be surprised if you don’t get quite a few other suggestions. The Vibrapod Cones are inexpensive and do seem to work. I don't think you will get adequate clearance for ventilation with cones directly on the carpet under the transport. |
