VAS (Steven Leung) cartridge repair/retipping service?

Any experience with or opinions about VAS/Steven Leung repair/retipping service?  Not for VAS cartridge.

Thanks!

As has my Kontrapunkt b, as a rebuild version and having a WRD fitted as part of the rebuild, been a very worthy competitor to the PW Windfeld.

Ortofon keep certain Model Ranges from their Cartridges voiced very similar, as they are using a continued technology and specific design, that only really differs when a new material is discovered to be added to supersede another material.

Dear @dogberry  : "  try repairing some Decca cartridges! "

I don't own a Decca cartridge but you can ask to this retipper ( @needlestein that is the same gentleman I recomended to you for your beloved C.  ) that is a very good alternative and in the next link you see his  perfect " job with some of my cartridges ( I sended 10 cartridges. ) where I ask to change only the stylus and in the pictures you can see that both channels measured dbs are exactly the same and this is not easy to achieve when even today top cartridges ( some models ) comes with not centered stylus that's a must to have that way:

Working with Steve now on a very low impedance MC, believe his Signature Nova is going to best accommodate. Highly recommend VAS wares and service.

Is this Steve Leung the same person who was previously associated with Raysonic in China?

Another big recommendation for Steve!

He was able to repair a Transfiguration Spirit that another re-tipper could not.

Recently, the also fixed a Dynavector Karat 23RS MR, and a Koetsu Black Goldline got a new rock.

Wouldn't hesitate to use again.

But does anyone know whether Steve is the former CEO or owner of Raysonic?

I was not sure of the best place to post this, so moderators, please move to the most appropriate location.
I sent my Soundsmith Aida ll cart to VAS (Steve Leung) for a retip, and got it back a few days ago. I don’t remember exactly what tip/cantilever the cart originally had, but I had the cantilever replaced with boron, line contact.
I’ve been listening for 4 or 5 days now, and the difference is shocking. Quieter, more resolution - delicate without being too tame. I just can’t get enough of it, it sounds so great!
I had originally planned to send it back to Soundsmith, but I had read bad reviews about their turnaround possibly taking a very long time. With VAS/Steve, I had it back in 4 weeks.
So, I cannot recommend VAS enough. It has been a wonderful experience, all around.

Harry at VPI sold me a VAS Nova mono several years ago.  It is excellent and when I had it refurbished by Steve Leung a couple of years ago, he also furnished a matching Nova stereo version.  These sound particularly good for classical music to my ears.  The service received was top notch and I would highly recommend this company.  As a point of comparison, I recently had my Hyperion refurbished by Peter Lederman at SoundSmith.  His work and his courtesy were also top notch, but it did take several months turn around.  Not big deal for me because I have several cartridges, but it does seem that SoundSmith is quite backed up just at the moment.  Two very fine companies, though, and we are blessed to have them both.
