I think you ought to sit back with a shot of whiskey and relax.  This is not life and death.  Because you read something in a "paper" does not necessarily mean it applies to your particular cartridge, even assuming that you have kept meticulous track of the hours of use, which most of us don't do very well. Do you perceive any degradation of sound quality?  By all accounts I have ever read, vdH is a kindly person who does take his time.  If and when you submit your cartridge for inspection and possible repair, be prepared to be without it for many months.  This means you will want to have on hand another cartridge that you can enjoy in the meanwhile.

Instead of starting a second thread on the same subject as your previous thread, it is a better idea to "bump" your original thread to the top of the list, by posting some new bit of information there.
