V-Cap Odam or Miflix output caps In preamp

Wondering if anyone has compared these two caps in a preamp? I am considering the Odams for output two in my Don Sachs preamp. What differences can one expect?

@aricaudio Are you saying the Audyn like the Miflex or Odam? I"m using both Miflex and Audyn True Copper Max in lower voltage situation.

@sns I wasn't saying either about the True Coppers as I find them equally enjoyable in higher or lower voltage circuits. I'm mainly saying that each can have a different situation where I find them to sound best. I hope this helps, Aric

Old thread but Google brought me here so may as well jump in and see if I get any opinions.

Looking to choose a coupling cap for my tube preamp.

Very happy with my system, but one thing I am looking to tweak towards is greater detail and transparency, and a bit more forward sounding. In general, I value texture and separation. My system leans warm and dark (which I love, but it's about final details). I'll note I'm also doing the 0.22 input coupling caps.

I just can't seem to make a final decision, so any thoughts are useful. Already got some good tidbits here.

Options in looking at:

Miflex KPCU-01

Miflex kfpm

Duelund CAST-PIO-Cu/Ag Hybrid

Duelund  CAST-PIO Tinned Copper Foil, WPIO

Audyn True Copper Max

Jupiter  HT Series, Round Case

Mundor s/o/g supreme

Certainly prices are all over the place. For example the duelund are $200 more than the miflex. Not really concerned about price though.

If you want more perceived resolution, a little forward and an emphasis in the upper mids and highs, then the Mundorf s/o/g supreme in oil cap is your answer. This is the easy best part for that particular result. I like the Jupiters and Duelunds more, but for your goal go the Mundorf route. They sound exactly like what you are looking for. Make sure they are the silver/gold in oil. You want the oil!

They are tipped up in the presence frequencies.

Another option if you want to lean towards a little more neutrality than the Mundorf would be the Vcap Odam. They are very transparent and open, but are not pushed up in the upper mids and highs like the Mundorf.   Great second choice if you are at all concerned about the extra presence of the Mundorf caps.
