Used audio market appears to be collapsing

Based on several ads I placed, there seems to be a fraction of the interest these items used to generate. Has anyone else noticed this?

I think spending on audio is softening. Many guys are buying this gear without sharing real costs, and when important things start costing more and the portfolio is shakey, those 4 year old speakers start sounding better.

Like all other markets audio ebbs and flows. I remember you could hardly find anything worthwhile on the used market during covid. I sold a few items at top dollar. Once the gates opened people started churning, now the market if flooded. There are only a few brands to my knowledge with significant wait times, so if you are selling one of those you are good.

that's the marketing gold, to make limited quantities to keep a brand exclusive and yet sell enough to make a profit. Or when millions of people think they are in a very select few thousand.

If this forum is to be believed many folks are downsizing, presumably selling 15 or 20 used components and buying 3 or 4 brand new ones.

Same deal with all the so-called "retirement" and "endgame" systems. All these folks have exited the used market and are not returning.

One of the reason for the used audio market decrease, a secondary one for sure, the main being the uncertain economic situation on all levels and the old generation dying not re-placed,  one of the reason is new  products offered  at low cost from China...

Sometimes very bad as the dac i bought this week, hyped by reviewers, and because my master piece the SPS TDA 1543 seems broken, i bought the Douk Q11...

I bought a Douk Q11  reading reviews... How wrong i was...no

The Douk equaliser  T8 pro i own is very good for his peanuts price, but the sound of the Douk Q11 is very bad compared to the SPS, which i repaired and work   thanks God...

But i was astounded by a few bucks linear power with no name, not even an off/on button  at his peanuts price supply with  4 connections ( 2 USB 5 volt and 123 12 volt) and very well designed and well done anyway...

Incredible improvement for peanuts, very low noise , better timbre, soundstage expansion.......(30 bucks)

My IFI  linear power supply 3 times costlier, with only one connection  is less good   by a margin very audible...

The SPS is so good that i am afraid to buy a Geshelli  which will cost many times my basic low cost system... Which is not logical....cool

@devinplombier I fall into that category. In the past month I have sold my entire system. And going smaller. To components that I can physically handle.
Had to have someone come over and put the 85 pound integrated amplifier in the box. And then in my car.
The 90 pound each speakers were a similar adventure. Needed help packing. What I once could do alone with no issue is simply no longer possible. My new GaN Fet mono blocks both together had a shipping weight of 14 pounds. The new bookshelf speakers weigh in at 28 pounds each. I will have a different sound to enjoy but I will have good sound to enjoy
