@erik_squires Yes, I was also just thinking this is the case, for the two different base frequencies. Thanks.
So it seems then both cables would be needed.
Use Multiple Master Clock Outputs?
I have the Denafrips Aether clock to use with their Gaia DDC. The two fixed clock outputs and two DDC inputs match for frequency (one in/out=45.xxMhz, the other in/out 49.xxMhz.
Do I use just one cable between the units at one of those frequencies, or do I use both cables for both frequencies. My gut says just one but not sure. Thanks!

I believe the reason for the multiple clocks is that they divide more easily to different base clocks. 44.1 kHz is Redbook/CD standard while higher resolution starts at 48 kHz. 49.152 MHz is 1024 x 48 kHz. 45.1584 MHz is 1024 x 44.1 kHz. So the high speed connection would be used at 48, 96, etc. while the lower clock rate is for 44.1, 88,2, etc. |
