stanfnelson, Mytec makes great stuff but in your case I would be more inclined to go with a DEQX Premate or the Anthem STR. They advance your capability dramatically with room control and digital bass management. Adding subwoofers in the future would be child's play. This would increase your systems headroom by at least 6 dB maybe even more. Everybody I know who uses advanced room control will never look back. This is not your average tweak. It is a big step forward. These units are a little more expensive but way worth saving for.
Upgrade Path Help
This group represents the collective hiding wisdom of the universe. I would love to tap into that to help with a decision. I have an opportunity to upgrade a piece of my system. Should I replace the preamps? Should I get a streamer/dac? Should I replace my computer, dac and pre with a Brooklyn Bridge?
Current system (in order of signal flow):
-Mac mini music server (external thunderbolt drive) running audirvanan and streaming Qobuz
-Supra USB cable
-Matriz X-Sabre Dac (Lava Caldera power cable)
-BEL The Wire P1 interconnect
-Jungson Hedo Class A Preamp (Lava Caldera power cable)
-BEL The Wire P1 interconnect
-BEL 1001 MkV mono blocks with stock power cables
-BEL S24 speaker cable
-Magnepan 1.7i
All power comes through Richard Gray equipment
I am looking at a Doge 8 Clarity, RME ADI-2 DAC FS, Brooklyn DAC +, and the Brooklyn Bridge. The Bridge would be a financial stretch, but would replace all three pieces most likely.
I enjoy DSD so if I go with a DAC pre it must have analog volume control.
Advice?
