I haven't heard the 29. I'm not sure it is of the same era and design as the 23.5. I believe (don't hold me to it) that it was out when the original 23. was available. I to this day believe that the 23.5 is one of the best amps period. Even compared to today's newer amps. I have directly compared my 23.5's to other newer amps and it is wonderful.
This is an amp that I often tell people to grab if it is in very good condition. You know, the heat sinks are a different color, the power supply caps are not leaking, or in need of replacement and the amp performs to specifications.
There are some places still where Mark Levinson components can be repaired, so this shouldn't be an issue either.
I would grab that 23.5 if it is in good shape and works correctly.
