What is your recommendation on an under $500 amp; I only listen through headphone Grado RS1. The new turntable is a Rega Planar 3 with White Elys II cartridge. My current amp is Art Phono Plus USB amplifier. Is one of the tube amplifier better or solid state? Thank you.
I use Musical Fidelity X-LPS V3 and can't be any happier with this unit. My preference for phono preamp is no tubes at all or at least hybrid such as AudioResearch PH3(btw good one as well), but others would chip in with tubes.
