Turntable/Album static elimination

I measure with my ears only in what i can hear.

i start with taking the dryer sheet and holding it over the platter so it’s barely touching the mat and lightly moving it around one circumference while platter is stationary. Then placing the album on and starting the rotation I hold the sheet in one spot over the album for a rotation or two.  Then clean the album using cleaning brush. Again, this is a process i am experimenting with and for me makes a positive difference

Define "seems to work".  Are you measuring static charge with a meter or going on the absence of sparks and crackling sounds?  Also, it's a bit unclear; are you wiping the LP with the dryer sheet or just the platter beforehand?
