don sachs unit used would be just about 2 grand... lovely unit

there are other very nice tube pre’s out there with remotes, but under 2 grand cost even used rules out the ones i have in mind

you might try to find a Berning TF-12 preamp used

Schiit Freya +...nothing competes with these at around 900 bucks as they're a true high end bargain.
