I'm running the Magellan Duetto with 40 watts of KT88 and love them. Lots of detail and excellent bass. Speakers are dynamic and exciting. I also own 3 other pair of Triangle and have enjoyed them all.

It's a little difficult to describe, but with larger speakers, the entire "scene" is a bit harder to take in, and I can just instinctively feel that the smaller speaker is "correct" for the room. Everything is marginally smaller but seems better organized and easier to understand. I also want to add, concerning the Duettos, that in addition to their dynamics, they are said to have excellent speed and timing, which I find important for jazz in particular. |
@fastfreight this is awesome to hear. I guess I'll be on the hunt for some stand mounts to see what I think. The hunt continues. |
Hello, perhaps one of my points came across wrong. "I have nice electronics and Audionet Max amps". My point here is that stand mount speakers are often paired with lesser electronics or amps. In stores, the big speakers are usually displayed with the nicer stuff, and smaller speakers with smaller integrateds and or lesser priced front ends. This is why some buy nice standmounts, under power them and then say they are so so. Better standmount speakers REALLY SHINE when given good stuff. Cheaper standmounts not so much. |
