Triangle Magellan Duetto 40th Anniversary

I've read such great things about these speakers, and I'm wondering if any members have owned or do own them, or have had other opportunities to hear them, and what their opinions are.

Thanks

It's a little difficult to describe, but with larger speakers, the entire "scene" is a bit harder to take in, and I can just instinctively feel that the smaller speaker is "correct" for the room. Everything is marginally smaller but seems better organized and easier to understand.

I also want to add, concerning the Duettos, that in addition to their dynamics, they are said to have excellent speed and timing, which I find important for jazz in particular.

They are beautiful, and that actually has some importance to me because I will be looking at whatever I end up with pretty often, but of course performance comes first.

I actually never heard a triangle speaker, but I have been listening to my pair of old Celestion sl6si stand mounts fo to the last month, and I’ve realized that a small monitor is really what works best in my small 13x11 x9 room. I’ve had much larger speakers, and they worked, but I now think that in this room a good small monitor is better.

I’ve always found dynamics to be very important to me, and Triangle speakers are known for that, and this horn tweeter in particular is supposed to be something really special. I really surprised myself by becoming so interested in these, because weeks ago I took a road trip to California to go to The Show, and I fell head over heels for a pair of Tonian monitors that were truly special, and I immediately knew that I wanted to own them, but now I realize that before I make that commitment I need to hear the duettos, and then figure out how I’m going to pay for them.

Oh, I’ll also say that if I was wealthy and had a larger room, I would love to own a pair of the Lumenwhite speakers I heard there. They sound as beautiful as they look

Yes, I need to hear them. No dealers here in AZ,but I spoke with a dealer in California and he might have them in a few weeks. Road trip!
