Today was Count Basie's Birthday

The late Count Basie was born today, Aug. 21st, 1904. Here a couple of quotes that I found both amusing and inspiring:

If you think Count Basie puts you to sleep try "88 Basie Street" I have read that the cd sounds great, and if it sounds close to the vinyl it must. An American icon, the Count surely knew the meaning of the word SWING!
