@ozzy62 , Absolutely! You can see pics of my vinyl set up at Village Baker in the above link. The fun part of setting up Button Bakery in Evanston, IL is setting up the stereo. I've been waiting to see how our budget is holding out. If funds get tight the turntable will be a fairly cheap one.... or delayed. But I'm optimistic that I'll be able to move one of my really nice decks from home to the bakery and upgrade at home. I already own a spare Hana MH cart, which will allow a less fussy phono stage. So far the bakery's stereo is a HiFi Rose RS520, a Roon server, and a pair of Focal Electra 1008 Be's. It sounds amazing.
Tip for "randomizing" a playlist.
Hello all, We are opening a small retail bakery and of course it has to have awesome sound. My "Button Bakery Big List" has almost 1,100 carefully selected tracks and it's been fun putting it together for the last few months. Playing this Qobuz list on 'random' shuffle mode is terrible! The same songs are always front loaded.
A good hack is to sort the list alphabetically by track. While exactly unrandom, it plays as much more random sounding. Through Roon, it's always easy to resume where we left off so the entire list gets played over days.
Indeed I was agreeing, and attempting a bit of humor. We had a bakery in Michigan and I had music licensing in place from the day we opened. I remember having to contact one of the offices because I never got a little sticker for my window. I wanted something to show my customers that we were legit. Over the years Village Baker became known as a place with excellent ambiance, partly for the great sound. |
Failing to obtain the necessary ASCAP license for playing music in your business can lead to fines ranging from $750 to $30,000 per violation, potentially including court costs and attorney fees. |
@gkelly You're assuming that I won't be buying a license from ASCAP, etc. For our business with no seating that's not too expensive. |
To legally play music in your bakery, you can use services like Soundtrack Your Brand (Spotify for Business), Pandora for Business, or Cloudcover Music, which offer licensed music streaming for businesses, or consider services like Rockbot or Jukeboxy, which provide curated playlists and music management tools. just a heads up so you don’t get fined by a ASCAP agent. |
