Tip for blues lovers

I listen to blues at least as much as jazz.  I like to discover new artists on Qobuz, and recently had my socks blown off by a young lass from Ireland, Muireann Bradley.  Her album is blues covers from the 20's and 30's and literally blows new life into them.  Just her guitar and voice.  Beautiful recording quality.  Great presence.  Anyone else sample this?

I gave her a listen on your advice and i agree it's a good album.  She has a nice voice and she's really been practicing her blues guitar.  I don't think the purists would like it, but what do they like?

Now let me recommend someone.  Harry Manx.  He mixes Blues and Indian music.  He plays a  Mohan veena, a 20-stringed instrument invented by Manx’ Indian mentor Vishwa Mohan Bhatt.  It's an acoustic guitar that's been "Indianized."

Start with "Wise or Otherwise" or "Mantras for Madmen".  Let me know what you think if you do give him a listen.

@boxcarman  -  Thanks for the feedback on Harry.  I do like to listen to relaxed music more often these days.  Harry is unique  and  I like his songwriting.  Enjoy!
