The Sun Sets On Omen Dirty Weekends

😫😭

Just got an email from Zu Audio that they will no longer make their Dirty Weekends.    They can’t make a profit on them any more, and as of this afternoon are off the website.  They will honor all outstanding orders.

I bought a pair last year to compare to my Klipsch Heresy IIIs and after a while of burning 'em in I concluded the IIIs sounded much better...no comparison really as the coloration and relative lack of coherency of the ZUs was just not cutting it in my system. The ZU people couldn't have been nicer when I decided to return them, and I may try a pair of their pricier models some other time. Note I also didn't like the Heresy IVs...I think the redesigned mid horn (plastic driver, redesigned throat/phase plug stuff) was the culprit in those. The IIIs stay...they're amazing.

It's a bit of a bummer.  I purchased a pair just about 3 years ago & absolutely love them.  Zu Audio seems to be re-working its offerings as the two bookshelf  models are no longer advertised on its web-site.

For a grand, the DWers were an eye opener and a reminder of the what's & why's of listening to music that started for me many decades ago.

Zu has said that it will come out with an entry level offering that will come in under $2K.
