The science of opinion ...

Some may find this interesting (it is).

Some may find this threatening (it isn't, it is science).

Some may read it and use it to help them understand the dynamics of internet forums.

I beg to differ.
I have learnt so much from this forum and still do, anybody who thinks they have nothing more to learn is a complete fool to themselves no matter how many posts they have!

Now that would be in " other" forums.

Just look at some of the threads I have created, the vast majority aimed at learning something or another.

As I already stated.
I consider this thread to be pointless, yes, but still of comedic value.
Hence why myself and a few others I suspect are still posting here.
Nothing more on my end except perhaps boredom?

Oh btw it may surprise you to know that whilst one is seated listening to music they can actually simultaneously post here from a mobile device.
So do not credit yourself with thinking people are going out of their way to engage in banter here.

As I said boredom is certainly part of it and amusement as to what some people will say next!

Do not forget opinions are like aholes, everybody has one but at least the latter are useful 100%of the time.
Ah sorry to have missed all the fun, mowing two acres of grass.
Maybe I do not have my priorities right?
All I can say is you have some very stranges notions Atdavid?

Not saying bad just strange.

I am afraid I just do not think about my posting on such a deep level as you seem to think people do.

I will flow with Elizabeth on this one.
I ain't got no life.
WTH would I be here if I did?
🤔🤔
11:21amI see the usual suspects are overly triggered this morning. I had some fun, got a run, in, had a wonderful breakfast with my wife, and all the while you guys were being keyboard warriors. Priority mates ;-)
Maybe we all just got up way earlier than yourself?
I am pretty sure we had already established LONG ago that this whole thread was pointless and should just remain for the comedic value only.

Or maybe that was just my opinion.

Hard to tell really.

However as far as music goes, I have already shifted into high gear and am enjoying my view of you all in the rear view mirror.

Adios amigos.

🚗🚗🚗🚗🚗
LMAO.

Good point GK! 😁😁

Glupson.

Not so good point.

Soothing the soul is just an expression thar nose!

And it was/is my opinion that it is the best way to start my day before the hapless clowns get on a real roll.

All just opinions ya see.

A little like onions now  I think about it.
Many layers.

Oops paraphrasing  Shrek.

My bad.....
It may well be yours and Katie's, that I will not comment on.
But it certainly is not mine.

Soothing the soul right now with The Beatles.
Newsflash.
This just in.....

Try more LISTENING to music rather than pointless blathering about semi related and oftimes wholly unrelated topics.

Food for the soul.
>>>I hate to judge too harshly but I’d say it keeps the people here who have nothing to say. But they sure as shootin’ like to bellyache! Everybody wants to be a facilitator. I’m from the future and only come back here for some kind of advanced ideas, but as there don’t seem to be any it looks like I’m here for the laughs. Audio forums died out in 2022.
I rest my case your honor!
May as well keep this thread open, at least it contains the crazies in one easy to find area.

Now if we could only keep em here permanently......
🤔🤔
I would like an ability something less shotgun like than an out and out block of a user, as say Facebook which would prevent them from responding as they can never see your threads, to something more scalpel like, like blocking users on a per thread basis, just to save the effort of having to continually remove posts.
I believe that was actually one of the aims of the "Insider" project, which unfortunately gained no real traction.
If I remember correctly I think there was talk of the OP of a thread created under the Insider forum being able to  block users from said thread.

Its been a while so maybe I am wrong......
My real name is Ethan Whiner... But only on alternate Tuesdays when there is a Full Moon.... Sadly the rest of the time I stick with Elizabeth. Even though that too is not my real real name. My real name is a government military secret.. Being a dolphin in a tank, it is hard to get out and enjoy other folks company in person...
The funny thing is, I am really not a dolphin in a tank, but a clever 700 year old alien cuttlefish disguised as a dolphin in a secret military base studying dolphins...   So even my secret military name is not my real real real name.
A mystery inside a mystery...
Someone's tea was spiked this morning!
🙄🙄
Thyname
Absolutely understand your post but I felt I needed to post my point of view and it was not intended as any slight to anyone.
Just my maybe out of date perspective on the subject.
Old habits die hard for this Englishman!
TBH, I have to join the Glupson camp on this one.
I do not use Farcebook, Twatter or any of the other "social media" merry go rounds.
Personally I have no desire to share my dirty laundry with the world.
Any of my family, friends, co-workers want to know anything they can pick up the phone and call me !

So why here then?

I for one never said this was the ONLY forum I frequent but I much prefer the topic specific ones like audio, Porsche, drag racing etc than wordwide nosey parker busy body type platforms.
Just me but I suspect I am not alone.

And I come here despite the trolls, silliness and hilarious at times posts to try and learn something new most times.

Which I have many days and have bettered my system because of these forums not in spite of them, IMHO.

And it is a great way to start the day with a good laugh!

Atdavid
Obviously you have NO CLUE at all as to the reality of my postings of recent times on this thread and what they really appertain to so maybe you should quit while you are ahead.
TBH I am in the wrong for even posting such off topic posts here but they were relevant for people who they concern.
I will cease and desist forthwith as my point has been duly noted by those who need to know.
Good day to all.
It is truly unfortunate that some members do not see this forum as being of use to them any longer.
I for one visit to learn and expand my knowledge base.
If someone truly believed there is nothing to be learned from say the analog or tech talk forums then I feel pity for them.

Even these misc audio forums have great value, where else can you see so much of human nature on display both good and bad ( Vegas of course but that's another story!).

Maybe I do not have a life either, but I still believe in the intrinsic value of some sections of this Audiogon forum and I will be darned if I am going to sit back and let it be ruined by some selfish individuals!
Totally crazy but I expected no less.
🤔🤔
I guess you just don't get why deleting your posts is wrong on just about every level apart from your own selfish reasoning.
Carry on regardless......
So predictable it's absolutely boring.
But if it is all such worthless drivel I truly wonder why you keep coming back.
Glutton for punishment?
Stubborn?
Ornery?
All of the above??

Don't worry, no answer is required.
Trying out AmazonHD via VPN myself .... this will force Spotify and Google's and Apple's hand. In some ways the best thing that could happen to the democratization of better and high resolution digital.
Something I can actually partially agree with you on.
However it will require Amazon to open up their cheeks  a little and let some of the smaller devs like mConnect and other aftermarket programmers get a hold of their apk so Amazon can be incorporated into more systems.
You know, like Tidal and Qobuz are embedded in nearly every streaming hardware device out there.
Do that and yes Amazon have a chance of taking over the hires streaming world for sure.
I think I'm just gonna put another record on my stereo...
Now THAT is the best darned post here so far!
Remember? That's what this hobby is all about, the music.
