There is a newly released biography of Leon Russell by Bill Janovitz. I'm half way through it and really enjoying it. Session man, producer, singer songwriter, admired by many well known others rockers and various artists.
And for his Shelter Records label, as well as The Church, his recording studio in Tulsa Oklahoma, where The Dwight Twilley Band recorded their glorious debut album Sincerely. Leon was also a member of Phil Spector's Wrecking Crew studio band.
From his contributions on the Joe Cocker/Mad Dogs an Englishmen tour and album to his production skills on some Freddie King albums, you don't have to look far to see what a great force he was in the music industry. Enjoy the music
