The Good Stuff

There are simply two kinds of music, good music and the other kind ... the only yardstick by which the result should be judged is simply that of how it sounds. If it sounds good it's successful; if it doesn't it has failed. --  Duke Ellington

This purpose of this thread is to provide a place to post outstanding examples of the Good Music.

My CD has a different cover art, but it is the same album.

Thanks @rok2id and all,

I’ve been lurking here for quite a while and enjoying all the titles. I’m currently on Amazon Music and can get most of the suggestions, will probably be going to Tidal soon if they have a larger library.

@arcticdeth

Thanks, We’re having people over Xmas day, so I’ll set them up as the background music.

@arcticdeth

I can only find Thank you 3 and I’m listening to it now.😃 I’m currently using Amazon Music HD, but plan on trying Tidal and or Qobuz in the New year. Do you know if the rest are on either of them?

Oh and thanks for your generous offer, but I’m going to wait to see if they are online somewhere first.

I love our library system here. They have an amazing amount of Jazz between all the branches that I can order on the app and go pick up CD’s and DVD’s when they come to my branch.

@ghosthouse

check your library for The Penguin Guide To Jazz recordings.  It’s 1300 pages of Jazz musicians and groups. If it’s not at your library, it is on Amazon.  I can’t say I have found a better book on Jazz people.
