The Cable Company advice?

Anyone have experience (good/bad/meh) with consultation advice from The Cable Company?

I asked for a recommendation for 8’ speaker cables from a $20k integrated to $35k speakers. Their reply was a long pitch about their lending library. When I asked for a specific recommendation they suggested a $750 pair of cables. When I replied that my budget was $2,500 to $5k with some specifics about air, soundstage, bass clarity, etc. they suggested one step up the line to a $1,500 pair.

Considering all the high priced cables they offer I was surprised and a little skeptical.

Does anyone have experience with them to share?

I found they seem to gravitate to "their" favorite which I believe was Synergistic Research.  I demoed them and found them meh.  After an exhaustive search I ended up with Audio Art Cables.  Rob was great to work with an ultimately customized the cables with better spades.  Overall very beautiful speaker cables.  Even my wife noticed the difference.

My only experience with the cable company was not good.  Who ever I talked to acted like he was on commission and was really pushy! I haven’t been back since.

FWIW I bought a Snake River Boomslang digital cable and I absolutely love it.  I'm eager to try some of his interconnects and speaker cables--when I have some extra money. ;-)

I've been helping a musician friend rebuild his system post-Covid and years of travel.  He bought mid-level Transparent interconnects and speaker cables and likes them very much.

I have had nothing but positive experiences with TCC. Never tried to talk me out of a product I was interested in and always sent me product to demo from their lending Library.

Tried to deal with a couple of local dealers for Purist Audio Designs cables and they were zero help and would not come off MSRP. Their loss I ended up with a complete loom of PAD Poseidon Diamond Revision cables.
