That darn Billy Strings

Jeepers creepers, “Live at the Legion” Billy Strings and Bryan Sutton. Just walk on. Recording is like perfect for live. Soundstage seems minimally altered in engineering and I’m listening via Tidal at 24/48.1. Stupid. This is one that should cut straight across the AudiogoN audience. Strong clear and dynamic as live music can be. Give it a spin. Your critical ears and playful souls will love this one.

Just finished reconfiguring cable setup. What a great idea to have Billy bless the new sound. can practically taste the smell of stale beer and cigarettes.

Hello @mopsauce !  I couldn't just let a Billy post go so under appreciated!  It does sound awesome.  While I like it, or perhaps more appreciate it, this is not the Billy Strings I love, that being the incredible layered spacey jams that magically come from bluegrass instruments and musicians.  His sound, to me, is incredibly unique.  I have seen him many times, beginning when he was a barefoot kid on the B stage at Delfest in Cumberland, MD.  Later opening for acts like Bluesky Greengrass, then many times on his own. Thanks for posting this!

@fastfreight 100% with you on his jams. This was definitely and orderly show. Not as much exploration. For instance his cover of Don’t think twice”, while the guitar work is fantastic it never really leaves Bob Dylan’s framework. With more of these available, streaming is becoming great.
